About the Service
The Regulatory Service for Railway Transport and for Brussels Airport Operations has been created as regulator for the Belgian railway by the royal decree of 25 October 2004. This royal decree has been amended by the royal decree of 1 February 2006 (the competence concerning economic regulation of the airport has been added).
For the moment the Regulatory Service is hosted by the Federal Public Service (FPS) Mobility and Transport. It is however no hierarchical part of this administration. A more autonomous statute is to be realised in the near future.
The Regulatory Service is to have a staff of 12 members. 9 have taken up office for now.
